In terms of short but sweet output, Jerry Calliste Jr AKA Hashim produced some of the finest electro of it's time. Signed to the seminal Cutting Records out of New York, Hashim first appeared on the hip hop radar back in 1983 with Al-Naafiysh (The Soul). Other offerings followed including Primrose Path, but it's this beauty we turn our attention to. Taking all the good bits from the electro scene of the time tinged with what was happening in the UK with bands such as John Foxx and Gary Numan and flashbacks to Kraftwerk, Hashim carved out some era-defining moments.
